10 years have passed since we founded YKRA and to celebrate, we’re going BACK TO THE ROOTS! Our products are made to inspire you to get outside, spend time in nature and enjoy everyday adventures.

The inspiration for the BACK TO THE ROOTS collection is a mix of nostalgia, and a look back at just how far we’ve come. In the early days, we decided to present our products as we wanted them to be used, outdoors, on adventures, so for our first ever photoshoot we asked some friends to come with us for a hike to Dobogókő. 

In Hungary legend holds that this place is one of the heart chakras of the Earth. We spent the day hiking amongst the huge stone pillars, cooked lunch atop the most scenic one, shot the lookbook images and made a video. It was a magical day, that kickstarted our brand, and put the bar high for everything we did afterwards.

The collection is dedicated to the loving memory of our good friend and first model, Peti, hidden in the details of the pattern. The pattern is silkscreen printed on durable cotton canvas and  visually inspired by 1970’s Yugoslavian-Western films, and designed by the super talented Levente Csordás, artist and graphic designer responsible for so many of our beautiful patterns.
